Stephen L. Shepherd
AIRVILLE – Stephen "Sonny" L. Shepherd, 89, of Airville, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024, at his home in Airville, PA with his daughters by his side. He was the husband of the late Nancy G. (Reever) Shepherd who passed away on September 8, 2007.
Mr. Shepherd was born September 20, 1935, in York County, PA and was the son of the late Stephen and Helen (Tompkins) Shepherd.
He was employed as a welder assembler with York International in York, PA for over 30 years before retiring in 1995. He mostly enjoyed any activity that involved his family. Game night with his daughters and cards with his siblings, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Shepherd is survived by his daughters, Susan Shaffer of Airville, PA and Wendy Fulton of Brogue, PA; four grandchildren, Jamie Shepherd, Abbie Fulton, Andy Shepherd, and John "J.D." Fulton and seven great grandchildren; his brother, Gerald Shepherd of Yoe, PA, and his sister, Janet Miller of Felton, PA. He was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Scott Shepherd, and his brother, Ronald Shepherd.
His memorial service will begin at 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Guinston Presbyterian Church, 14130 Guinston Road, Airville, PA. His visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM Saturday at the church. His burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. Officiating at his service will be his pastor the Reverend Dr. Daniel Moore and Reverend Dr. Chet Joines. Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf, PA.
