Pastor Steven D. Barnes - age 73 of Gallatin, MO and formerly of Albany, MO passed away Wednesday night, October 30, 2024, at Cameron Regional Medical Center in Cameron, MO. Steve was born on June 7, 1951, the son of Charles Ralph and Dorotha (Parker) Barnes in Stanberry, MO. He was a 1969 graduate of Albany High School. Steve served as the pastor at Albany Assembly God for over 40 years. Steve will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Hailey Toney; sisters, Margaret Barnes, Dora Ellen Smith, and Patricia O'Neal and son-in-law, Kevin O'Halloran. He is survived by his children, Cindy Barnes (Travis) of Gallatin, MO, Jennifer O'Halloran of Albany, MO and Steven Barnes (Holly) of Lee's Summit, MO; grandchildren, Trevor Barnes (Sierra), Sadie Toney, Tristan Toney, Macey Toney, Amanda Comstock (Chris), Brooke McDowell (Gabe), Bryton O'Halloran, Emily Barnes, Roxanne Barnes, Violet, Lily, and Nolan; eight great-grandchildren; siblings, Edward Barnes (Vickie), Joseph Barnes, Chuck Barnes (Regina), Art Barnes, James Barnes, Ruth Cook, Jane Solum, Sylvia White (Stan), and Lois Hazelrigg (Tony); several nieces, nephews and other extended family members also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Stith Funeral Home to help with final expenses. The family will hold a memorial service at 2 PM Monday, November 25th, 2024, at Crossroads Assembly of God in Cameron. Visitation will begin one-hour prior to the service at the church.
