Susan Hall Obituary

Susan Ann Morris Hall, born on September 18, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away peacefully at her home on September 5, 2024. The daughter of Sam and Eleanor Morris, Susan's life was filled with love for her family, animals, and a profound connection to the horse community.
A graduate of Livonia Franklin High School, Susan worked as a bus driver for Plymouth-Canton Schools and as a waitress and bookkeeper at Northville Downs. Her passion for horses led her and her husband, Russ Hall, to South Lyon in 1978, where they founded their cherished horse farm. Over the years, Susan's dedication to the horse world flourished. She served as President of both the Justin Morgan Horse Association and the Michigan Horse Show Association, leaving a lasting impact on the equestrian community. She also served as treasurer and secretary for both organizations and was involved with the Michigan Futurity.
For many years, Susan was the show manager for Michigan All Morgan, where she lovingly handmade food for over 600 people on Saturday nights of the show. She also managed the Classic Horse Show and the Morgan Fun Show, bringing her organizational talents and passion for horses to every event.
Susan married Russ Hall on May 27, 1967, and shared over 50 years of love and companionship with him. She is survived by her son, Nick Hall, and his wife, Tracy; her grandchildren, Ryan Hall, Shelby Hall, and Amber Jenkins (and her husband Chris); and her great-grandchildren, Alex Jenkins, Andrew Jenkins, and Jaxson Harland. Susan will also be missed by her best friends of 45 years, Maureen and Pete Lomonaco, and by Laura and Mark Wealch, whom she met 21 years ago. Her loyal dogs, Dolly and Brutus, were a source of comfort and joy.
Susan made many friends among her neighbors on Rushton Road in South Lyon, where she was a beloved member of the community. In her final days, she was cared for with compassion by St. Croix Hospice. Now, she will be joining her beloved Russ in heaven.
Susan's legacy of love, kindness, and tireless dedication to her family, friends, and the horse community will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
