TERRY LEWIS HOCKSTAD

Terry L. Hockstad, 68, of Caro, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, October 18, 2024. He was born on May 30, 1956, in Mt. Clemens to David and Minnie (Ruffner) Hockstad.

A graduate of Eisenhower High School in Shelby Township, Terry worked as a truck driver, delivering beer for Budweiser and hauling heavy equipment for Northwood Contracting. He was a passionate bowler, achieving multiple perfect 300 games, and competed on the PBA Senior Tour. Terry also enjoyed playing softball with friends, but his greatest love was the outdoors, where he excelled as both a hunter and fisherman.

Terry cherished spending time with his grandchildren, especially attending their sporting events. Known for his vibrant personality and sharp sense of humor, he was often the “life of the party,” bringing laughter to friends, family, and even strangers with his witty jokes. He kept those he loved close to his heart.

He is survived by his daughters, Terri (Bryan) Tomlinson of Caro and Jackie (Matt) Tracy of Lapeer; his “bonus daughter,” Katelyn Collins of Kingston; his best friends, Jeanette (Preston) Collins of Kingston; his grandchildren: Trevin Gray, Brody Gray, Mattie Tracy, and Lauren Tracy; his brother, Ted (Kathy) Hockstad of Florida; several nieces; and his beloved dog, Barney. Terry was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers: Tom Hockstad and Tim Hockstad.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024, at 5:00 pm in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City, officiated by Pastor Jim Rayment. The family will be present to receive visitors at 4:00 pm until the time of Terry’s service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family’s discretionary fund through Kranz Funeral Home.
