Terry Dewayne Phillips, 62, a business owner, died Monday, October 13, 2025 at the University Medical Center in Jackson.
Visitation is 9:00 am until 11:00 am Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Trinity Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Trinity Baptist Church with Bro. Dale Rogers and Bro. Rusty Vowell officiating. Interment will be in Carthage Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Phillips, a native of Leake County, served in the Army National Guard.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Jerry and Virginia Phillips and a sister, Rose Mary Sistrunk.
Survivors include 2 sisters, Edith (Johnny) Watkins and Brenda (Kenneth) DeCoursey; nephews, Patrick (Alison) Vowell; Dusty (Pamela) Vowell, Rusty (Heather) Vowell, Kenneth (Amanda) DeCoursey, Phillip (Melody) DeCoursey, and Barry DeCoursey; nieces, Giggi (Mallory) Pearson and Renee Sullivan; 8 great nieces; 3 great nephews, 2 great-great nieces; 2 great-great nephews.
Pallbearers are Patrick Vowell, Dusty Vowell, Braylon Vowell, Kenny DeCoursey, Phillips DeCoursey, and Barry DeCoursey.
Honorary pallbearers are Larwin Atkison, Ricky Turner, Scott Caldwell, and Buck Chipley.

I was Terry's accounting rep at Derksen for 5 years. Terry was my buddy and always called me Sunshine. I will miss him terribly.
