Thomas E. Parker Jr. passed away peacefully in Woodstock, Georgia on June 10, 2024. He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Parker Edmondson, her husband John Edmondson, his son Douglas Parker, and his wife Sandra Parker. Thomas served in the United States Navy on the USS Yancey and the USS Rainier.
Born in the Detroit area, Thomas was a Detroit Tigers, Red Wings, and Lions fan, and once he settled in the Chicago area, he became an impassioned fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bears. Thomas enjoyed classic cars, WWII aircraft, and was an avid aviator. Thomas survived the death of his wife Carol Parker (nee Fisher) to whom he was married for more than forty years. His sense of humor stayed with him through the difficult times, especially in the later years when he faced his greatest challenge with Alzheimer's. Thomas will be missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Thomas may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
Interment will be private with military honors.
