Thurman (TJ) Reed, 79, of Canton, TX passed away on June 11, 2024. TJ was born on January 7, 1945, to William and Osia Reed in West Virginia. He moved to Dallas when he was 8, and later to Kaufman in the early 1980s; then after the passing of his beloved wife of 49 years, Thelma, he moved to Canton where he lived out his remaining years. TJ worked as a union carpenter for most of his career but later transitioned to Walmart where he retired. TJ enjoyed spending his free time fishing, traveling, sightseeing, watching rodeos and being outside working with his hands. TJ leaves behind his cherished dogs, Lucky and Star, and could often be found outside giving them snacks and playing with them. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Osia, his wife Thelma and son Jerry Don, his siblings; Charles Edward King, Jimmy Reed and Faye Whitley. Those left to cherish his memory are his siblings: Billy Reed and wife Margie of Midlothian, TX, Larry Reed and wife Diane of Grand Prairie, and Michael Reed and wife Lou of Lancaster; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
