James Lawrence Obituary

James A. Lawrence, 61, of Templeton, died peacefully on Saturday, February 15, 2025, in Quabbin Valley Healthcare, Athol, after an illness.

Born in Athol on July 13, 1963, he was the son of Laila (Miettinen) Lawrence and the late Harold W. Lawrence Jr. He graduated from Narragansett Regional High School with the Class of 1981, where he was a cross country and track runner. He was a laborer employed by Aubuchon Hardware of Westminster for many years.

James was a congregant of the First Church of Templeton. He was a life member of the Snow Bound Club of Winchendon and a former member of the Birch Hill Snowmobile Club. James was an automotive enthusiast who found joy in snowmobiling, NASCAR, and International Tractors. His love for baseball was evident in his unwavering support for his beloved Boston Red Sox. However, above all, James’ greatest joy was his family. He cherished every moment, and every memory shared with them throughout the years.

Besides his mother, James is survived by his three brothers, Michael Lawrence and his wife Laura of Templeton, David Lawrence and his significant other Penny Taintor of Gardner and John Lawrence and his wife Jennifer of Gardner; a sister, Lisa Arnold and her husband Thomas of Portland, ME; nieces and nephews, Kelcey Arnold of Brooklyn, NY, Eric Arnold of San Diego, CA, Brittney Landry of Athol, Shannon Charland of Virginia and Tyler Taintor of Milford; a great-nephew, Paul Landry IV of Athol; two aunts and several cousins.

Calling Hours will be held Friday, February 28, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
