Timothy Rasmussen Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Westgor Funeral Home - Neenah on Jan. 8, 2025.
Tim was born on November 1, 1955, in Neenah and grew up in Menasha with his mother Ina (Colby) Rasmussen and father, Gene. He was swiftly followed by four brothers: Kendall, Mark, Kurt, and Bill.
Tim was a skilled athlete and came from a family of sports enthusiasts. He was all-conference in baseball and football for Menasha High School and went on to pitch in college for UW Oshkosh. Following college, he coached Little League Baseball and Softball for both Menasha and Neenah. He loved working with young athletes and had a significant impact on their future love of sports. Many of his players went on to have meaningful baseball careers.
In 1990, he married his best friend Nicole Arpin in Waupaca at the scenic Red Mill. They went on to have many great adventures and added four beautiful children to their tribe: Alexander, Clayton, Nakira, and Jenna.
Tim was an awesome father and provider, always putting others before himself. His family was always his priority. He was also just an all-around polite, caring, and thoughtful man to neighbors, friends, and perfect strangers.
Tim was a perfectionist, a carpenter by trade and inventor by necessity, and always kept his family from falling apart. Cars were maintained, bills paid early, and his lawn impeccably mowed. He was an amazing grandfather to his beloved grandchildren: Maverick, D.K., and Zarielle. Tim will be sadly missed by many.
He is survived by wife Nicole; children Clayton, Nakira, and Jenna; brothers Kendall (Pam), Kurt (Ann), Mark, and Bill (Shelly); his wife's siblings: Joann, John (Becky), Lisa (Lauren), Margie, and Matt (Julie); his aunt Anna Mae and numerous cousins, friends, and extended family, not to mention his dedicated pets: two cats who never left his side as he bravely battled cancer, and three wonderful dogs.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Ina; his mother and father-in-law Nancy and Ed Arpin; his sister-in-law Michelle; his brother-in-law Chip; and his son Alex.
In closing, the family wishes to thank all of Tim's dedicated nurses. A special thank you to Jacob, Liz, and Katie.
A joint visitation and- Alex and his dad Tim will be held at Westgor Funeral Home in Neenah, 205 W Doty Ave, on Sunday, January 12, from 2:00 to 3:30 PM and from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm there will be an open mic where friends and family can share memories of both Alex & Tim.
