Travella Jean Hershey, 86, of Temple, died November 28, 2024, at Manatawny Manor, Pottstown.
She was the loving wife of Richard DeHart Hershey, with whom she shared 62 years of marriage.
Born December 20, 1937, in West Hanover Township, she was a daughter of the late Charles Franklin and Edith Lillie (Chubb) Hunsicker.
Travella was a 1955 graduate of Lower Paxton High School, Dauphin County.
She was employed as a word processor with Carpenter Technology, Reading, for 5 years, retiring in 1990.
Travella was a member of Faith Evangelical Congregational Church, Temple, where she enjoyed singing. She also loved baking for the workers of vacation Bible school and took great pleasure in hosting "Sunday Coffee Hour" at church.
She enjoyed traveling, especially cruise trips with family and friends. Her favorite trips were to Germany and Alaska.
Travella was always an active part of her grandchildren's lives, and will be sadly missed by them.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are her two children: Rodney Hershey, husband of Mary of Schuylkill Haven, PA; and Julie (Hershey) Roth, wife of Thomas of Muhlenberg Township.
There are also four grandchildren: Jillian, Jayne, Evelyn, and Grant Roth.
In addition, she is survived by her sister, Darlene C., wife of William Wilkinson of Pine Grove.
Travella was preceded in death by her sister, Lucinda Lilly Gilbert who died in 2002.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, December 7th at 11 a.m. at Salem Shalter's Cemetery, 2032 Mount Laurel Road, Fleetwood, PA 19522.
