Tyrone Nelson Godfrey, was called home, Saturday September 21, 2024 in Dillion, SC. Born December 20, 1965, he was the youngest child of the late Deacon James and Sallie Williams Godfrey.
Tyrone graduated from Mullins High School, class of 1984. Brother Tyrone joined Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church at an early age, serving God's Kingdom as a member of the Junior Choir and on the Junior Usher Board.
After high school, Tyrone joined the United States Army, serving his country for 20 years. While in the service, he met the Love of His Life, Lakay Pointer. They soon became one in Holy Matrimony, November 23, 1999, enriching his life further with 4 more children.
Preceding Tyrone in death is his father and mother, James and Sallie Godfrey and his sister Johnny Mae Grainger. Tyrone leaves to cherish memories of his life, his wife Lakay Godfrey of the home, daughter LaTrice White, Mullins, SC, Marlena and LaToya Pointer of Syracuse, New York, Jenna Pointer of home and a son Jeffrey Pointer of Syracuse, New York; Two sisters Rosyln Wynn (Charles) of Toledo, Ohio, and Dorothy Russell of Maryland; Two brothers, John C. Godfrey and Alphonsa Godfrey of Syracuse, New York. 4 grandchildren, a special niece Missy Godfrey of Charlotte, NC, a cousin and best friend, Thomas " Pee Wee " Genwright of Mullins, SC along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends
