Obituary
Vaughn Walter Corbin, the 9th child of the late Ernest and Nettie Taylor Corbin, was born in Snow Hill, Maryland on November 26, 1935. He departed this life on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Manokin Nursing Home in Princess Anne, Maryland.
Vaughn spent his early years in Worcester County and attended the public school system there. The family later moved to Salisbury and, in 1959, Vaughn entered the United States Army. After his honorable discharge, he returned home and began working at Perdue as a truck driver, where he received recognition for his safe and defensive driving practices. Vaughn was later employed by Showell Poultry until his retirement.
Vaughn was very fun-loving with a joking personality. His off-the-cuff comments would have his family and friends crying with laughter. Vaughn's favorite past-times were spending time with his family, playing cards, shooting pool and bird-watching.
Vaughn is survived by: a sister, Jeralene Deal of Salisbury, Maryland; a son, Kenny (Jamie) Thompson of Salisbury, Maryland; a grandson, J.R.; dedicated niece, Katie Smith; nephew, Darrell Corbin and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Iris Jean and siblings, Mervin, Linwood, Franklin, Frances, John Edward, Lillie Mae Johnson, Ernest "June", Blanche, Margaret "Maggie", Lewis, Thomas, Alexander, and Otho "Buddy."
