Velvet Grace Obituary

Velvet Grace, 60, of Smyrna, Delaware passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025. Born on October 28, 1964, in Wilmington, Delaware, Velvet lived a full and vibrant life marked by a deep love for her family, animals, and the simple joys of everyday living.
The daughter of the late Jack Keeler and Patricia H. Keeler, Velvet spent her early years showing cows and horses with her sisters at the Delaware State Fair, a time that would instill in her a lifelong passion for horses.
A high-school graduate, Velvet pursued a career she loved, working for many years as a horse trainer in the harness racing industry. In later years, her knitch for cooking and culinary skills led her to working for her family's seafood restaurants, The Rainbow Inn and Boondocks Restaurant.
A woman of many talents, Velvet found joy in gardening and creating-always finding beauty in the simple things. Her two-dogs, Diesel and Myla, were her constant companions and a great source of happiness.
Velvet will be remembered as a fun-loving, caring, and strong woman who had a radiant sprit and a generous heart.
She is survived by her significant other of 20 years Jon E. Ryan; her children Kelsey Grace, Frank E. Ryan, Michelle Adams, and Ashley Hoisington; grandchildren Kaylin Watson, Tre Hoisington, Annabella and Andrew Adams; her sisters Virginia Keeler and Tina K. Clark; and countless cousins, nieces, and nephews.
