Vincent Staunton Obituary
Vincent worked for Travelers Insurance for 42 years and was instrumental in the St. Paul Travelers platform merger. He enjoyed playing Gaelic Football and meeting many of his countrymen in NY and CT. Vincent was involved in West Hartford Special Olympics floor hockey as coach. He enjoyed the comradery of Bogtrotters Golf Club, where he perfected his famous 1 Iron off the tee box. Vincent enjoyed building floats for the Hartford St Patrick's Day Parade and was honored as the West Hartford Marshal representing the town. Vincent was a car enthusiast always having something fast and spotless in the garage. He was a man who could fix anything and was incredible in understanding how things worked, often researching until he could repair it better than it was originally built. He would be the first to come and lend a hand to anyone who needed it.
Vincent is survived by his loving wife, Susan, of which he shared 54 years of marriage; his daughter, Jennifer; his sisters, Bridget Moran, Bernie Reilly-Duffy, Mary Staunton and Anne Staunton-Rahi; and many nieces and nephews whom he cherished.
A Mass of Christian Burial is Thursday, (September 12), 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 872 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Harc, Inc., 900 Asylum Avenue, Hartford, CT 06105 in the name of the Staunton Family Trust. Online condolences may be made to www.SheehanHilbornBreen.com

As my parents entered their golden years we could not have asked for a better next door neighbor than Vincent. He was there for every need and it was a great comfort to know that he was there for whatever was needed. Completely dismantle a faulty microwave, figure out what was wrong, research how to obtain the needed part, then reassemble good as new? check. Assist my father hanging holiday lights? check. Check on my parents when we are unable to reach them? check. A one of a kind gentleman who left his mark and will be missed

Vinnie was one of the best managers at Travelers Data Center. As the Human Resources Director, I saw an individual who cared deeply for each of his employees. After we both retired, we met at Buena Vista Golf Course and reminisced about our many years at The T. Rest in peace my friend!
