Vivian “Jean” Martin, 85, of Lewiston passed away suddenly Thursday morning, December 5, 2024 at home. The daughter of Dale and Ida Mae (McCloy) Sandeen was born on June 10, 1939 in Detroit. She made her home in Mancelona until moving to Lewiston in 2018. In 2022, she met Craig Gowing at church, and they worked at Community Sharing together. They played chair volleyball, watched movies, and went for walks.
Jean had a spirit for life. She wrote a devotional book, loved stopping at Goodwill stores, and was always looking for a deal. She always had a strong and unconditional love for animals and did pet grooming most of her life. She enjoyed gardening, family, friends, and her dog, Mia.
Surviving is her son, Mark (Debbie) Sansone; granddaughter, Rebecca; and great-grandson, Colton; fiancé, Craig; brother, Chuck Sandeen; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Carly Mae; stepson, Bobby Martin; brother, Jim Sandeen; and her second husband, Bob Martin.
Funeral services for Jean will take place at noon on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at the Congregational United Church of Christ, Lewiston. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM until time of service.
