Wallace Lansberry Obituary

Wallace "Walt" W. Lansberry, age 72, of Powell, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at home. Born in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Dorothy and Wallace Lansberry, Walt was a graduate of Solon High School, Class of 1970. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from The Ohio State University, where he met the love of his life. Walt began his career at Ohio Bell and remained in the telecommunication industry until retirement in 2005. In addition to his late parents and brother, Mark Lansberry, he is preceded in death by his adored wife, Kathy. Walt is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Kristi and Steven Franklin; and his cherished grandchildren Drew and Emma; sister: Cheryl Krause; brothers: Dean and Rich (Linda) Lansberry; sister-in-law: Patti (Terry) Marsh; many nieces, nephews, dear friends and his beloved feline Maggie. Walt was always supportive of his daughter and family. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and wasn't afraid to be vocal on political affairs. Walt was outgoing and friendly to all. The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. MONDAY, February 17, 2025 at the Rutherford Funeral Home at Powell, 450 West Olentangy Street, Powell, OH 43065 where Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. TUESDAY, February 18, 2025. Burial will follow the service at Resurrection Cemetery, Lewis Center, Ohio.
