(Romanowski) Achuff, of Royersford, PA, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 in the Spring Mill Senior Living, where he has resided for the past year. Born on November 9, 1932 in Wilkes-Barre, PA, he was a son of the late Willard Achuff and Charlotte (Van Buskirk) Achuff-Bulevicz.
Mr. Achuff was a graduate of Coughlin High School in Wilkes-Barre, and he received his bachelor's degree in finance from Wilkes University. Mr. Achuff honorably served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War from 1951 - 1955. He began his career in Personnel Management and Labor Relations at the Valley Forge Army Hospital in 1967. Beginning in 1974, he went on to work for the I.R.S. office in Philadelphia until his retirement in 1994.
Mr. Achuff was an avid sports fan, especially cheering on the Washington Commanders and the Joe Gibbs Racing Team in NASCAR. He enjoyed reading and visiting the orangutans at the Philadelphia Zoo. Mr. Achuff liked antique cars and attending car shows, and he loved to sit back and enjoy a laugh while watching the original cartoons. Most of all, Mr. Achuff cherished the time he spent with his family, especially biking and visiting the amusement parks.
