William "Gene" Eugene Beavers, 98, of Piketon, Ohio, passed 8:45 a.m., Thursday, December 5, 2024 at his home.
William was born October 4, 1926 in Peebles, Ohio, the son of the late Noah Beavers, and Ella (Lunchford) Beavers. On November 3, 1956 he was united in marriage to Rosa Romaine (Grooms) Beavers, who survives.
He is survived by a son, Ronald E (Pamela) Beavers; a grandchild, Christina (Zack) Coe; a great grandchild, Corbin Lane Coe; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Linda Jean Arcaro; and eleven siblings, Ollie Beavers, Earl Beavers, Walter Beavers, Ethel Berridge, Elvie Moore, Cora Jones, Ernie Beavers, Donald Beavers, Della Taylor, Effie Houghland, and Zelma McJunkin.
William was a veteran of the United States Navy and served in World War II. He attended Piketon Community Church.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Sunday, December 8, 2024 at Howe Wheeler Boyer Funeral Home, Piketon, Ohio, with Pastor Alan Newberry Officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery, Piketon, Ohio with graveside military honors performed by American Legion Post #142.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m., until the beginning of the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
