William Gibson Obituary

William Calvin Gibson, Jr., age 79, passed away Monday, October 13, 2025 at his home in Foxborough surrounded by the comfort of his loving family. He was the husband of the late Brenda (Smith) Gibson and son of the late William Gibson, Sr. and Mary L. (Gorell) Gibson.
William was born on October 31, 1945 in Boston and was raised in Foxborough. He was a graduate of the Norfolk County Agricultural School in Walpole. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a former long-time resident of Tulsa, OK. William was the owner and operator of Gibson Public Adjusting of Tulsa, OK. He was an avid reader, a muscle car enthusiast and enjoyed boating and fishing. He adored his dachshund Scooter.
Loving father of Daniel S. Gibson of Foxborough, William C. Gibson, III and his wife Susan of Sapulpa, OK and Virginia Hamrick and her husband Richard of Bridgeport, WV. Devoted grandfather of eight and great grandfather of three. Cherished brother of James Gibson and his wife Pam of Foxborough, John Gibson of Foxborough, Joseph Gibson and his wife Diane of Venice, FL and the late Robert D. Gibson and Mary "Bunny" Gibson. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Dear friend of Daniel Field and his wife Gerry of Wrentham.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a calling hour on Friday, October 24 from 10 AM to 11 AM at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home at 11 AM. Interment to follow at Brookdale Cemetery in Dedham.
