William H. "Bill" Wells 90 of Clifton died Thursday, September 26, 2024. Born in Little Falls, to John and Adabelle (Roche) Wells, he was a lifelong resident of Clifton.
A 1954 graduate of Clifton High School, Bill was employed as a refrigeration mechanic for Schering-Plough in Kenilworth for 27 years prior to his retirement 2002. He was a parishioner of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Clifton. Bill was a member of Clifton Masonic Lodge #203 F&AM, a Past Worthy Patron, a Past Grand Officer of Peace Chapter #98, Order of Easter Star of NJ and a member of the Valley Seniors. He also served in the Army National Guard.
Bill is survived by his wife of 63 years, Janet M. (Slezsak), by three daughters; Victoria Hollis and husband, Joseph of Clifton, Lesley Bourdette and husband, Michael of Lake Hiawatha, and Shannon Brand and husband, William of Clifton, by seven grandchildren, Joseph, Matthew and Michael Hollis, Nicole Ploth, Christopher Herrmann, Kaitlyn Bourdette and Rebecca Rhodes, by a great granddaughter, Gianna Ploth, by a niece, Andrea Bratis and by two great nephews in Colorado. He is predeceased by his parents and by a brother, John E. Wells.
Funeral services will be held 10AM Tuesday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 380 Clifton Avenue, Clifton, NJ 07011 followed by burial at Cedar Lawn Cemetery. Visiting hours are Monday 4-8PM at Allwood Funeral Home, 660 Allwood Road, Clifton, NJ 07012 with an Eastern Star Service at 7PM.
Memorial donations to St. Peter's Episcopal Church or to St. Peter's Haven will be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
