Wilma June Hill, 91 years, of Temperance, MI passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024 in Hickory Ridge of Temperance. The daughter of Frank and Alfreda (Sheely) Roof she was born June 2, 1933 in Raisinville Twp., MI. September 25, 1954 she married Michael Howard Hill.
She retired from the former Sharon Mfg. Co in Lambertville and previously worked for several places including Revco, Inc. in Deerfield, The Butler Paper Products Co., Martin-Parry Corp., and W.T. Grant Co.
Wilma grew up on a farm in Monroe, with her 5 brothers and 6 sisters. She worked side by side with her dad driving the tractor. She dropped out of school to take care of her ill mother.
Wilma saved her money to buy a brand-new bedroom outfit for her mom to have visitors, because her mom was ashamed to have visitors when she was dying.
She loved playing cards with the adults as well as the grandchildren. Her favorite card game was Skip-Bo. Every fall she would enjoy attending craft shows and she would spend hours throughout the day doing Word Search. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Temperance.
Wilma is survived by her loving children, Patrick Hill, Pamela (Ed) Craig, Brenda (Michael) Ritson; grandchildren, James (Amanda) Boudreau, Taylor (Nathan) Boyer, Jeremy (Kendra) Craig, Adriann Hill, Katie Hill, Kristin (Tyler) Rogaliner, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way; and sister, Shirley Kocsis.
She was preceded in death by daughter, Theresa Hill-Yockey; son, Terry "Terrance" Hill; granddaughters, Lindsay Boudreau, Krista Craig, Theresa Craig; and 5 brothers and 5 sisters.
Visitation will be Friday, October 18, 2024 from 12:00 noon until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. in the Urbanski's Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI. Burial will follow in Whiteford Union Cemetery.
