Wilma Sue Walker, born on October 31, 1945, in Logan County, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025, in Ghent, Carroll County, Kentucky.
Throughout her life, Wilma made significant contributions in her professional career. She worked in the packaging department at Dormans in Warsaw, Kentucky, and had previously been employed at the former Tele-dyne Wirz Factory, as well as McDonald's and White Castle Restaurants. Her work ethic and commitment to service exemplified her deep-rooted values.
Wilma was also a member of the Relevant Church in Carrollton, where she found a sense of belonging and fellowship. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, and she cherished the relationships formed within her congregation.
She is survived by her loving husband, Donald Ray Walker of Ghent, Kentucky. Wilma's family includes her daughter, Patricia (Jon) Larson of Walnut Grove, Missouri; her sons, Ezekial Wade Ritchie of Indianapolis, Indiana, and John (Mikki) Ritchie of Rochester, Washington; and her step-sons, Steven (Michelle) Walker, James (Christie) Walker, both of Ghent, Kentucky, and Ronald Walker of Alabama. Wilma was also the proud grandmother of thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Hardcastle and Velor Pinkston Hardcastle, and her siblings: sisters Edna Hardcastle and Pearl Hardcastle, along with brothers Jimmy Hardcastle, Gene Hardcastle, and Bill Hardcastle. They will be remembered alongside her in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Relevant Church, located at 2505 Highland Ave, Carrollton, Kentucky. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at the same location, commencing at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Rusty Bennett presiding. Interment will take place in the Ghent Masonic Cemetery.
The legacy of Wilma Sue Walker will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, as they remember her unwavering love and the joyful spirit she brought into their lives.
