Yvonne Duckworth Obituary

Yvonne Duckworth, born December 20, 1943 entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior on October 31, 2024. Born in Homer, LA to the late Elmer and Eva Hardy.

Left to cherish her memories, Son Michael Duckworth and wife Cindy, Daughter Renee Sims and husband Richard. Sisters, Inez Sanders and Sandra Talley, Grandsons Joshua Sims and wife Nikki, Lance Sims and Wife Summer. Granddaughters Nikki Watson, Elizabeth Barker and husband Michael, and Victoria Northcutt and 15 Great Grandchildren.

All those that knew her are now left to cherish her memory as a kind, generous Christian lady who loved the Lord and to be surrounded by her family especially by her Grands and Great Grands.

She was a homemaker that was well known to always have tea cakes, or some other wonderful sweet treats always available when her family and friends stopped by.

She loved to cook and her family enjoyed her Southern Cooking of fried chicken, potato salad and sweet potato cake.

Ms. Duckworth truly enjoyed her quilting and the family is forever grateful to have her many quilts that now can be passed down for generations to come. She had various part time jobs throughout her lifetime, but her most interesting or unusual was that of making trotlines.

Yvonne Duckworth will be loved and misses, but her memory will be cherished by her family and all those that knew her.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Eva (Evans) Hardy, Brothers Neal Hardy and Cortez Hardy. Nieces Penny Sanders and Linda Hardy. Great Nephew Jordan Sanders 

Ms. Duckworth is blessed to have the following Pallbears assist in honoring her memory.  Joshua Sims, Lance Sims, Kaden Sims, Easton Sims, Michael Barker, and Aaron Sanders.

The family would like to thank the staff at Longview Hills Nursing Home for the care she received, Marshall Hospice and The Hospice of East Tx. for making her last few days as comfortable as possible.

Services for Yvonne Duckworth will be Saturday November 9,2024 at Croley Funeral Home, Diana Tx  at 11:00 a.m. Family will meet visitors one hour prior to service. Interment at Walnut Cemetery, Diana Tx.
