Mildred Romano Obituary

TERRYVILLE

Mildred C. Romano (ne Fiorillo), 93, of Terryville, CT, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 3, 1931, to Albert J. and Rose M. Fiorillo, both deceased, Mildred was raised in a large, close-knit Italian family during the war years. She embodied strength, resilience, and an unwavering devotion to her loved ones.

Mildred was the cherished wife of Alfred M. Romano, Sr., who predeceased her in 1992. She was also predeceased by her sister Marlene Sherman (2005), her son Michael G. Romano and his wife Susan (2019), and her son-in-law Fred Krampitz (2017).

She is survived by her sister, Dolores Calway, her children; Alfred M. Romano, Jr. and his wife Raelene, Brian P. Romano and his wife April, and her daughter Linda R. Krampitz. Mildred was a devoted grandmother to Jennifer Cooke, Jessica O'Brien and her husband Jay, Amie Romano, Jake Barsaleau, Heather Eisenberger and her husband Edward Eisenberger Jr., Alyssa Romano Gonzalez and her husband Brandon Gonzalez, Christina Romano, and Adam Romano. Her legacy extends to her great-grandchildren: Michael Cooke, Michael Blakeston, and William

Eisenberger, along with several nieces and nephews.

A proud resident of Terryville since 1956, Mildred was a lifelong parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Church. She found joy in her community, cherishing many lifelong friendships, particularly within the close-knit group at Quail Hollow. Her life was marked by love, laughter, and an enduring commitment to family and friends. She loved camping, spending time by the beach, taking trips to the casino, dancing, and all varieties of music.

Mildred's final days were a testament to her loving spirit. Surrounded by her family, she passed into eternal life in a room filled with love, stories, and treasured memories. Her sweetness and warmth left an indelible impression on all who met her. Even her caregivers would remark with a hand over their hearts, Oh my God... She is so sweet!

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the aides, nurses, and Krista, her APRN at Cherry Brook Health Center, as well as the exceptional team at UCONN's ER and ICU. Their compassionate care and dedication brought comfort and peace to Mildred and her family.

Memorial services will be held at Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St, Terryville, CT, on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, from 8- 9:30 a.m., with a service at 9:30 a.m.. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Bristol, CT. www.scottfuneralhomeinc.com
