Dr. Robert H. Bowden Jr., a beloved Obstetrician Gynecologist of Lynchburg, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2024, at the age of 91
On Saturday, January 18, 2025, a memorial service will be held at Saint Paul's Episcopal in Lynchburg at 3:30 p.m. with a reception following at Oakwood Country Club.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to Virginia Military Institute or St. Paul's Episcopal Church.

Dr. Bowden was my gynecologist and obstetrician. He was the nicest and funniest guy. He shared some of the best stories - some that I still remember and share with people today. So very sorry to his family because I know this is a huge loss and he will be missed so much!! Love and prayers to all who knew and loved him!!

To the family of Bob Bowden,
I worked with Dr. Bowden as colleagues for nearly 30 years working at Virginia Baptist, and would have attended his memorial service had not COVID appeared to me yesterday. He was always dedicated to his patients, kind and patient with all who worked with him, a hardworking honest man. My best wishes to your family for a life well lived.
