Anna Stauff Obituary

Anna Harden Stauff

December 6, 1981 - January 16, 2024

Raleigh, North Carolina - Anna Harden Stauff, 42, died on January 16, 2024, peacefully in her sleep. She and her husband, Matthew, lived in Raleigh since their marriage in 2006. Her son, Owen, was born in 2010.

A graduate of Needham Broughton High School, Anna went on to earn a Bachelors of Arts degree in sociology and religion at Dickinson College in Pennsylvania. Anna was a systems analyst at UNC Health Care.

Anna was an avid animal lover who had several pets at all times and volunteered with an area dog rescue. She enjoyed the Carolina mountains and Outer Banks as well as travelling farther afield. You could regularly find an in-the-works puzzle spread across a table at her house as well.

Anna was always undeterred and enthusiastic. While at Broughton she tried out for choir though she could not carry a tune. She was not athletically gifted but participated in different sports and always seemed to win the Best Sportsmanship Award. She was beloved by co-workers and all who were fortunate to spend time with her.

Anna will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her husband and son, she is survived by her parents, Carson and Burt Harden, of Raleigh; and her brother, Paul Burton Harden, III, of Raleigh, his wife, Jenni, and their children, Naomi and Paul; her uncle, Bill Ward, and his wife, Teresa, of Atlanta, GA, and their two children, Bill, and Steven; her aunt Elly Smith of Monroeton, PA, and her son, Josh; her uncle, Michael Bradley of Idaho; her in-laws, Rosemary and Michael F. Stauff, of Pittsboro, North Carolina; her brother-in-law, Adam Stauff of Greenville, SC, and his children, Violet and Callum. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Maxine and Paul Harden of Towanda, PA, and Josephine and Bill Ward of Raleigh, NC; and her aunt Becky Bradley.

A Graveside Service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Raleigh on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024 at 1:00 PM. Following the service, the family will receive friends at the home of Carson and Burt Harden.
