LEE WILLIAMSON Obituary

WILLIAMSON, Lee (Chamberlin) Of Walpole, formerly of Norwood, passed away peacefully, on July 17, 2025, at the age of 86, surrounded by her loving family. Born September 26, 1938, to Ruth (Cooper) and Joseph King Chamberlin, Lee was raised in Westwood. She was predeceased by her loving husband, R. Russell "Russ" Williamson; and is survived by her three sons: Mark and his wife, Mary of Norfolk and their sons, Kevin and his fiancé, Caryn Clark of Medford, Sam of Newton and Paul of Norfolk, Scott of Newton and Todd and his wife, Liz of Westwood and their children, Holden, Avery and Graham, all of Westwood. She is also survived by her sister, Gail Larcom of Wyoming; and her brother, retired Admiral E. Robert "Bob" Chamberlin and his wife, Sandy of Virginia; along with many loving nieces and nephews. Lee graduated from Westwood High School in 1956 and from Syracuse University in 1960 with a degree in Music. Besides her family and her church, music was the greatest source of joy in her life. Lee shared this love of music first as a music teacher to public school children in her hometown of Westwood. She sang with various choral groups and loved to perform in various musical productions like South Pacific put on by the Pingree Players. Lee also enjoyed the opportunity to participate in song and dance numbers as part of a variety show that was produced to raise money for Norwood Hospital. She volunteered at the Norwood Hospital coffee shop for many years. Lee's faith was very important to her. She was a longstanding member of the First Congregational Church of Norwood, where she was devoted to the church choir and held a variety of roles in different committees, but was especially proud of her service on the music committee and filling in when needed to play the organ or piano. Lee loved spending time with her family, playing tennis, skiing and traveling with her late husband, Russ and frequently with their siblings and their spouses. In their later years, Lee and Russ enjoyed time at their home in Mashpee. Funeral Services will be private. A Memorial Service will be held in the First Congregational Church, 100 Winter Street, Norwood, on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 12:00 PM. The family wishes to thank the loving and dedicated staff at New Pond Village, especially at Aldridge Memory Care. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Lee's memory to the First Congregational Church of Norwood music fund, (https://www.fccnorwood.org/donate). I´m very sorry for your loss. I got to know Lee when I was the programming assistant at New Pond Village. She loved my guitar music. She was a sweet and beautiful person!
