STERLING – Diane L. Frankfather, age 76, died Sunday, September 22, 2024 at The Citadel of Sterling.
Diane was born on June 30, 1948 in Savanna the daughter of Hobert and Thelma (Fulton) Smith. She married Robert L. Frankfather on June 8, 1974 in Morrison. He preceded her in death on April 2, 2023. Diane was employed with General Electric in Morrison for over 25 years. She and Robert were members of the Rock Falls American Legion Post #902 and they also shared the maintenance duties at the Post.
Survivors include two daughters, Wendy (Kevin) Eckel of Sterling and Nisa (Shawn) Mason of Gastonia, NC; three step daughters, Robyn Powell and Tami Lemke both of Colorado, Debbie Fecht of Illinois; one sister Judy (Larry) Heath of Morrison; one brother, Lyle Smith; seven grandchildren, Janet (Jessica) Eckel, Jett (Delaney) Eckel, Jack Mason, Jenna Mason, Albert Powel III, Joshua Powell and Karla Rodekamp; one great grandchild, Soleil Powell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; one sister; one granddaughter, Jordynn Eckel.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Graveside services will be held at a later date at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling.
