Rae Arena Obituary

Arena - Rae, of Wantagh, passed away gently at age 90, surrounded by her family. She was the adored daughter of the late Josephine and Peter D'Angelo; and the beloved wife of 70 years to her cherished husband Salvatore. Predeceased by her son, Peter Paul; and sister, Mary Trapani (Benedict). Loving mother and 'Miney' to Victor (Jane), Peter (Kiira), Kara, Daniel and great-granddaughters Josie and Elowyn. Indulgent older sister of Peter D'Angelo (Peg), she will be missed by her many nieces and nephews. Rae prepared every holiday meal, and nothing pleased her more than having her family around the table. Rae proudly retired from Sewanhaka CHSD as their purchasing agent, having started her career as a clerk. Rae and Sal enjoyed traveling in their early retirement, trips to Atlantic City, dinner around town, and spoiling their grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, 11:15am, at St. Frances de Chantal R.C. Church in Wantagh. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Francis Hospital would be be most appreciated.
