George Spencer Obituary

George Allen Spencer, affectionately known as Toby, was a beacon of laughter and kindness who journey on Earth began on November 24, 1953, in Luling, Texas. He transitioned peacefully to his eternal rest on September 22, 2025, in Kyle, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of love and joy. His departure was as he lived- peacefully and surrounded by the family he cherished.

Toby's early years were shaped by the loving hands of Lenoy Spencer and Elmira Spruiel, and at the passing of his mother, Robbie Mae Spencer stepped in to fill his childhood with warmth and guidance. He grew up in a bustling household with four brothers and two sisters. He is survived by one sister Ethel Wright (David), two brothers, Buba Gant, and Carter Spencer (Puff).

Life Journey led Toby to marry Mary Frances, and though they did not have biological children, he was blessed with five stepchildren who filled his life with purpose and joy. Later, his heart swelled with pride as he welcomed a son, Justin Bradley, his wife Biancia, and four amazing grandchildren in his fold.

Toby's path intertwined with Fannie Johnson, who became his lifelong partner, and together he embraced two stepsons and a grandson who came to live with them. Toby's heart had no bounds; he had numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. To Toby, family was not just blood relation but anyone he met, young or old. Along the way, he found a new friend in Avonna White, who affectionately became 'Lil Cuz' to his 'Big Cuz'.

A man of many talents, Toby spent his working years in construction and yard management. Hi retirement was anything but idle, as he dedicated himself to helping others, particularly relishing the chance to pick kids up from school and jokingly competing with Justin to be first in line. His playful spirit and dedication to his community were unparalleled.

Toby's spiritual beliefs were the foundation of his comedic outlook on life. He often said, "I'm not here for a long time, I'm here for a good time," echoing the words of beloved celebrity George Strait. This philosophy was evident in his love for the 49ners, his unwavering support for the spurs, and his enthusiastic (if not entirely tuneful) karaoke performances.

Described by those who knew him as funny, kind, friendly, Toby's legacy is one of joy and compassion. His interests and hobbies were divers, but they all shared a common thread: they brough happiness to himself and those around him. Toby's spirits will be remembered every time a 49ners touch down is scored, a Spurs basket is sunk, or a karaoke machine lights up.

As we bid farewell to Toby, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with laughter, love, and a touch of divine comedy. His spirit remains with us, a gentle reminder to embrace life with humor and kindness. He may have left this earthly realm, but his legacy of joy and connection will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to be part of his extended family. George Allen "Toby" Spencer will be remembered as a man who lived life to the fullest, who saw family in every face, and whose legacy of laughter and love will continue to resonate. His spirit, now free to soar, leaves behind a trail of memories that will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
