Russell Allridge Obituary

Russell E. Allridge, 96, of Finleyville, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 31, 2024, in Concordia of Bridgeville. He was born July 14, 1928, in Bellevue, a son of the late Noah and Ida Allridge. Russ was retired from the former Arcadian Garden's in Bethel Park, where he worked as the store manager. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Finleyville and a 50-year Active Member of the Finleyville Volunteer Fire Department, where he held many offices including president and fire chief. His greatest joy in life was spending time with family, friends and working in his yard and with his flowers. Always quick with the newest joke, his contagious laugh warmed the hearts of all who knew him, including the many who affectionately called him "Uncle Russ". Surviving are his daughter, Sherry (Tom) Blaskovich of Finleyville; three grandchildren, Tammy (Jason) Merschat, Tiffany (Rich) Bender, David (Amanda) Kegel; three great- granddaughters, Diora, Vianna and Anesa; son- in-law, David Kreutzer; daughter-in-law, Denise Kegel; and numerous nieces and nephews. Deceased are his wife, Irene Allridge, who died July 4, 2024; a daughter, JoAnn Kreutzer; stepson, Tim Kegel; and 13 siblings. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, November 4, and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 5, in Kegel Funeral Home, Inc., David P. Kegel, supervisor, 3560 Washington Avenue, Finleyville, where funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 6, with interment following in Finleyville Cemetery. The Finleyville Volunteer Fire Department will conduct services at 7 p.m. Monday.
