Carmella Torsiello died on Wednesday evening at Princeton Medical Center in Princeton. She was 91 years old. Mrs. Torsiello was born in New Brunswick and resided in the city before moving to North Brunswick. She relocated to Monroe 2 years ago. She was a long time parishioner of St. Mary Mount Virgin R.C. Church in New Brunswick. She was employed by E.R. Squibb for over 25 years as a line inspector. She retired in 1986. Mrs. Torsiello was an accomplished baker, known for making a delightful apple pie. She also enjoyed playing bingo and rooting for her favorite baseball team, the New York Yankees.

Mrs. Torsiello was predeceased by her husband, Samuel Torsiello in 2001 she was also predeceased by her brother; Anthony and sisters; Sarah, Anna, Theresa and Grace. She is survived by her sons; James Torsiello and his wife Lonnie of Monroe and Samuel Torsiello of Langhorne, PA. She is also survived by a grandson; Michael Torsiello of Los Angeles and a sister; Josephine Abate of Somerset.

Services will begin on Monday at 8:45am at the Gleason Funeral Home 1360 Hamilton Street in Somerset followed by a 9:30am funeral mass at St. Mary Mount Virgin Church. Committal services will follow at St. Peter Mausoleum in New Brunswick. Friends and family may call from 2-5pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
