Robert M. Ankenbauer, age 75, of Omaha, passed away September 28, 2024, at the Josie Harper Hospice House. Bob was born April 4, 1949, in Council Bluffs to the late Robert L. and Anne M. (Daley) Ankenbauer. He graduated from St. Albert High School in 1968 and from Huron, South Dakota College in 1972. Bob was a salesman for Concrete Coating for many years. He was of the Catholic faith. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Rebecca. Bob is survived by his children, Michael (Sarah Hall) Ankenbauer, Sarah Robinson, and Jeff (Sarah) Ankenbauer; five grandchildren, Katie, Romona, Van, Natalie, and Odin; sisters, Laurie (Dave) Fields, Angela Ankenbauer; brothers, Martyn, and Daniel (Kathy) Ankenbauer; nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service, Thursday, 11 a.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Inurnment in St. Joseph Cemetery with a lunch following at the Walnut Hill Reception Center, 1350 E. Pierce St. Memorials are suggested to St. Leo Catholic Church, 1920 North 102nd St., Omaha, NE 68114.

I am 80 years old now. I used to play with Bob when we were young kids. We always had a good time. He was always kind and thoughtful of others.

When I was a young child, my parents would have the Ankenbauer family over to our house. While the parents were socializing, I would be playing with the Ankenbauer youngsters. Robert was part of that. I have very fond memories of the Ankenbauer family. My fond memories and remembrance of Robert and his outstanding family make me sure that he is at rest in peace now.
