Wayne Wellington Obituary

Family & friends are respectfully invited to attend Visiting Hours on Wednesday, September 21st from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rt. 107) Revere for Wayne W. Wellington, who died on Saturday, September 17th at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, as a result of a lifelong battle with diabetes, while on dialysis awaiting a kidney transplant, he was 36 years old. A Funeral Service will follow the visitation in the Funeral Home at 7:15 p.m. Interment will be private.

Wayne was a native of St. Catherine, Jamaica where he was born & raised. He came to the United States with his family as a teenager, and was a proud alumnus of Boston English High School, Class of 2005. Wayne worked in the food service industry, and he became a line cook. He worked for Corporate Chef. Wayne's proudest moment in his life was becoming a father, to his beautiful son, Tristan M. Wellington. Wayne was a loving & kind person, who always greeted you with the biggest smile. Wayne's life impacted so many people who cared & loved him.

He is the beloved son of Doreen E. Reid of New Bedford & the late Constantine Wellington. Loving father of Tristan M. Wellington of Revere. Devoted companion of Brittany M. Maggio & her parents Mark & Susan Maggio, all of Revere. Cherished brother of Richard Brown of Beverly, Odell Wellington of New Bedford, Kelso Brown & his companion Sarith Phat of Revere & Keel Wellington of Fall River. Adored uncle of Omarey, Lidia, Maxwell, & Michael. He is also lovingly survived by many aunts, uncles, colleagues & friends.
