Carla Yvette Green-Miles was born on February 2, 1961, in Beaumont, Texas, to the late Alfred Green, Sr., and Julia M. Green.
She graduated from South Park High School in 1979 and went on to work at St. Elizabeth Hospital for twenty years. Carla later served in the Transportation Department of the Beaumont Independent School District.
A woman of strong faith, Carla was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, where she gave her life to Christ. She cherished time spent with her special friend, Lance Hines, as well as with her beloved family and friends—moments filled with laughter, food, and treasured memories.
Carla was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Green Sr., and her sister, Lisa Renee Lee.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory: her loving mother, Julia M. Green; her son, Terrence Powell; and her daughter, Kelly Miles, all of Beaumont, TX. She is also survived by her brothers: Alfred Green Jr. (Catalina) and Joseph Green (Shona), both of Beaumont, and Kevin Farnnell (Antoinette) of Houston, TX; her lifelong brother-in-law, Vincent Lee; her sisters: Loretta Moore (Stanley) and Bridget Smith (Charles); and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will carry her love in their hearts forever.

“Losing someone you love leaves an ache that never truly goes away, but the love you shared will always remain. Grief is not a sign of weakness, but a reflection of how deeply your heart loved. With time, the pain softens, but the memories and love lives on forever.

Cuz, I was looking forward to Spring 2026 to work on the landscaping in front of your little house. Even though we won’t share that moment here, I know I will recognize your spirit in heaven’s garden, blooming brighter than ever. Until we meet again, your memory will live on in every flower and every season that comes. You will definitely be missed my sweet Carla, Love your cousin Tess
