Sharon Pate Obituary
The daughter of Melvin Francis & Bernadine Lois (Wininger) Brandt, she was born on July 25, 1948 in Grand Rapids and graduated in 1966 from Rogers High School in Wyoming. On February 22, 1969 in Grand Rapids, she married Charles Pate, and together they enjoyed nearly 56 years of unwavering love and raised three sons.
Sharon lived a life filled with love and generosity, leaving an unforgettable imprint on the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She and Chuck enjoyed camping, motorcycle rides along the Michigan countryside, and found a joint pleasure in classic car shows.
Sharon was someone who found joy and purpose in serving others. A natural caregiver, her dedication to helping people was unconditional and inspiring. However, the heart and soul of Sharon's life was her family.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant brother, William Brandt.
She is survived by her husband, Chuck; their three sons, Jamison & Lindsay Pate, Shaun & Michelle Pate, and Corey & Jenny Pate; ten grandchildren, Grace, Maddi, Andrew, Jacob, Justin, McKenzie, Kennedy, Jade, Skye, and Olivia; one precious great-grandson, Sawyer; and her faithful feline, Missy.
Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place and private services will be held later in the spring or summer.

Grandma, I will miss you everyday. I am thankful for every minute I have ever gotten to spend with you. You are so incredibly beautiful both inside and out. I feel so lucky that I get to call you my grandma. This has been an incredibly heartbreaking loss, but I feel reassured knowing that you are now at peace. Thank you for all the great memories. Thank you God for Sharon,
for the good example she has shown us by being a good mother, wife and 'sister', by helping others, for her smile-even through challenges over the years-showing you are always just a prayer away.
Please give Charlie & family signs of your love and grant them your peace and comfort. Help them to treasure the wonderful memories they shared~May Perpetual Light shine upon her. Amen

Sharon became my sister-in-law almost 56 years ago, and during that time she became my friend. We shared a lot of good times; some just together and many more with our spouses & children. She was a beautiful person, both outside and inside. Sharon was devoted to Chuck (the love of her life) and her family. I am so glad that I was able to have more time than usual with her this past year. She was a kind, lovely lady and will be missed by our family and friends.
