Priscilla Bouch Obituary

Priscilla Voigt Bouch
August 23, 1942 - December 22, 2024
Priscilla Voigt Bouch, 82, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2024. Born on August 23, 1942, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Mildred and Edwin Voigt. Priscilla spent her early years in the charming town of Erdenheim, just outside the northwestern border of Philadelphia, surrounded by the love of her parents, her older brother Roben, and a close-knit extended family.

A graduate of Springfield High School in Montgomery County, Priscilla went on to earn a BA in Math and Business Education from Penn State University. During her summers in college, she worked as a waitress in Philadelphia and Atlantic City, NJ, while also beginning her teaching career in a Philadelphia high school. It was in Atlantic City that she met Joel Bouch, a medical student who was working nights as a cab driver. The couple married in 1966.

In 1968, Priscilla and Joel moved to California to support his medical training and military service. After a few years in San Francisco, they settled in Petaluma, where they found a medical practice for Joel and built a home on a picturesque property with the help of Joel's sister, Wendy, and her partner, Tony. It was there that they raised their two children, Rebecca and Dustin.

Priscilla's love for animals, especially ducks and geese, was evident in the menagerie she kept on their three-acre property, which also included dogs, cats, and even a goat for a time. She was passionate about gardening, particularly growing flowers and plants, and the Bouch home became a gathering place for friends and family, where celebrations and holidays were always marked by good food, laughter, and her infectious joy for life.

After Joel's untimely passing, Priscilla continued to raise her children in Petaluma with great pride, especially seeing them both graduate from college. She was deeply committed to her friends and community, volunteering her time with the Boys and Girls Club. Priscilla also worked at Illuminations and Bio Bottoms, where she made lasting connections with colleagues and customers alike.

She remained a vibrant presence in Petaluma, working at local shops and later at Cline Vineyards, where she enjoyed meeting visitors from around the world in the tasting room. Her warm spirit and love for people brought light to everyone she met.

Priscilla is survived by her son, Dustin, and her brother, Roben. A private celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Dear Devin,
Sending you love upon reading of your mother's passing. I remmeber her as the beautiful young wife of Joel, when Anita and I went to see them at their apartment near Ocean Beach in San Francisco. I'll always think of her that way.
Love ,
Joan Cooper

I will greatly miss my one and only dear sister. Her passing leaves a big empty place in my heart; however, there are many, many wonderful memories from our childhood and as adults that should help me carry on as I mourn my sister. Thanks to all of you who have reached out to send condolences. Roben
