John Wilson Obituary

John W. "J.W." Wilson, a beloved lifetime resident of Virginia Beach, passed away on September 25, 2023, at Virginia Beach General Hospital. Born August 23, 1937, in Princess Anne County, he was the son of the late John W. and Mildred E. Wilson. J.W. retired from Virginia Power after 40 years of service. He was a Past Master at the Princess Anne Masonic Lodge, a member of the Khedive Shrine Temple and the Royal Order of Jesters, a regular volunteer at Virginia Beach General Hospital, an avid golfer, and active member of Thalia United Methodist Church.

J.W. was predeceased by his loving wife of 47 years, Judith R. Wilson, and his brother, Darrell R. Wilson. He will be fondly remembered by his two sons, John W. Wilson, Jr. (Tammy) and Jeffrey W. Wilson (Susan); his cherished granddaughters, Wesley and Abigail; his sister, Marilyn W. Peeler; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, located at 2002 Laskin Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23454, on Friday, October 6, 2023, 5:00-7:00 PM.A memorial service will be held in J.W.'s honor at Thalia United Methodist Church, 4321 Virginia Beach Boulevard, Virginia Beach, VA 23452, on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 4 PM.
