Robert Leroy "Bob" Scott, 86, of Peru, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, in La Mesa, California.
He was born January 04, 1938, in Peru, Indiana to Robert Preston Scott and Lucille (Hicks) Scott. He married Anita (Coldren) Scott on July 03, 1955 and she survives.
Robert served our country in the U.S. Navy as a TRADEVMAN from January 1955 thru June 1974. After 20 years of service, he retired from the Navy and continued working for the Federal Government another 38 years.
Robert had many hobbies, including riding his motorcycle, traveling cross country more than once. He earned his private pilots license and enjoyed flying with the Navy flying club. Robert was an avid woodworker, enjoyed oil painting and framed his own artwork. He liked to travel, go backpacking and camping, and read western novels. Robert loved spending time with family. He was a very giving and loving soul. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and CPO Association. Robert loved his family and was always available to help with any task. He always spoke fondly of his brother and sisters, and his many nieces and nephews. He loved his time growing up in Peru. Robert was a good husband, great father, wonderful grandfather, and great-grandfather.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his daughters Candace Stock (Glenn); Lisa Wolstencroft (Brian) and son Robert L Scott Jr., (Elizabeth).
Also three grandchildren, Megan (Nate), Robert (Grace) and Claire (Kevin) along with five great- grandchildren; David, Banks, Palmer, Owen and Keaton. Robert is also survived by his sister Jay of South Carolina.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, brother Russell Dean and sisters, Ruth Ann and Virginia.
Visitation will be held at Flowers Leedy Funeral Home, 105 W. 3rd St, Peru, Indiana, on January 10, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:30am. Funeral service immediately follows at 11:30am, with Burial taking place at Westlawn Cemetery in Denver, Indiana. Military rites will be provided by Miami County Military Rites.

Anita and family - So sorry for the loss of Bobby , Am not sure I ever met him would have thanked him for his service in the US Navy. My husband Duane Siders served in the Navy. I am from the Richvalley clan daughter of Laura and Walter Jr Coldren. Glad to see you have had a long time together. Hope it was a happy adventure. Unfortunately unable to attend the service I have a Dr appointment I cant reschedule.

We are so sorry for your loss, you all and family are in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. Will miss Uncle Robert he was always with family and loved ones in their need, I have good memories of times with him, especially The Scott Family Reunion in TN.
