Dale Whitecotton Obituary
He was born on October 4, 1946 in Bokoshe, Oklahoma to Mona Ann Myrrah (Barrick) Whitecotton and John Albert Joe Cephus Whitecotton and passed away on September 25, 2024 in Bokoshe, Oklahoma. He was married to Peggy Jean McCollom on June 4, 1966 in Bokoshe, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cephus and Monie Whitecotton; son, Adam Whitecotton; sisters, Dica Blair, Inell Peerson, Violet Cessna, Judy Medina; brothers, Jake "JC" Whitecotton, James Beecher Whitecotton, and Cleatus Joe Whitecotton. Dale served as a police officer for almost 30 years working in Bokoshe, Spiro and LeFlore County. He was the Sheriff of LeFlore County from 1989-1992 and also worked at the AES as a security guard.
Survivors include his wife, of 58 years, Peggy Whitecotton; daughter, Jeannie Patterson and husband Bubby; sons, Albert Dale Whitecotton, Jr. and wife Samantha, Duane Whitecotton and wife Roxanne; sisters, Patricia Shimp, Caroletta Cooper; nine grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones.
