Gail Hartman Obituary

Gail Hartman
Gail Hartman was born in 1942 in Seattle, Washington to Henry and Margaret Kalberg. After an early marriage, which ended in divorce, she moved to California. She spent many years working in the natural foods and natural healing fields in both San Francisco and Marin County. After retirement, she moved to Sonoma County. Gail loved dancing at Monroe Dance Hall. It was there that she met Jim Jorissen, whom she married. Gail and Jim were great companions. They loved bike riding together. They spent a lot of time hiking and camping in the Sierras and traveling to scenic parks such as Yosemite, Lassen, Arches and Zion. Gail loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking the many trails of Annadel State Park which was near their home in Oakmont. Gail had many loving friends.

Gail passed away peacefully at home on September 19, 2023, at 80 years of age. She is survived by her husband, Jim Jorissen as well as her brother Stephen Kalberg and sister-in-law Gayane Novikova of Brookline, Massachusetts and her brother Ken Kalberg of Seattle, Washington. At Gail's request, there will be no memorial service, but she will be remembered fondly by her many friends and relatives.

I went to Latona elementary school in Seattle with Gail, and she was a great friend. I live in Idaho now but every time I drive on 45th NE near Roosevelt Way and pass the apartment where she and her family lived, I think about her. I'm so sorry to hear she passed away last year.
