I was a Resident Assistant in the freshman dorm when Genia came to Queens. I fell in love with her enthusiasm and her wonderful sense of humor. She was my little sister in Phi Mu! We had a terrific friendship, playing canasta until the wee hours laughing until we thought we´d pop! We reconnected when my daughter moved to Greenville, SC and I visited with Genia then. Her spirit was incredible even in her battles with cancer. She always lifted others up. She will be greatly missed among all those her knew her. Love to you sweet friend

I met Genia at Queens. Her freshman year I was her sophomore "Rat" sister for orientation. I adored her immediately and talked into joining the newspaper staff, where I was the editor. Her zest for life and ability to make me laugh will be among my fondest memories.
