Donald Brooks
Donald Brooks, 95, of Meriden, Connecticut, was born November 5, 1930, in Bozman, Maryland, son of the late James Edwin and Blanche Palmer Brooks. He graduated from Moton High School in Easton, MD in June 1948. Donald worked for Southern New England Telephone Company in New Haven for 25 years, retiring as Supervisor of Collections. He later worked for Prometheus Pharmacy in Cheshire, CT as a dispatcher for over 10 years. Donald was a member of Mount Hebron Baptist Church in Meriden, CT where he was a Deacon, and Christian Tabernacle Baptist Church in Hamden, CT where he served on the Board of Trustees, the Senior Choir, and was Building Attendant. He was predeceased by his former wife, Ermine Brooks; sons, Donald Edwin Brooks and Kevin Wade Brooks (Susan); and nine siblings. He is survived by his children Tamara Daniels (Ken) of Meriden, Marc Brooks (Antoinette) of Mooresville, NC, and Kenton Brooks of New Haven, CT. He also leaves Betty Brooks and stepsons, Edward Brown of Austell, GA and Christopher Brown of Hamden, CT; 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, and many relatives and friends.
A celebration of Donald's life and legacy will be held Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Christian Tabernacle Baptist Church, 425 Newhall Street, Hamden, CT, followed by burial in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Meriden, CT. Family and friends may view at the church from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Professional services entrusted to Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight Street, New Haven, CT.
