Gerald Thayer Obituary
Greenfield, MA - Gerald A. Thayer, 76, of Congress Street died Monday 10/2/23 at the Greenfield Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Greenfield. He was born in Greenfield on July 13, 1947, the son of Albert B. and Martha (Vollinger) Thayer. Gerald attended local schools in Greenfield and was a graduate of Greenfield High School.
He was a store keeper for the railroad for many years until his retirement.
Gerald enjoyed spending time in his garden before moving to his apartment at the high rise. He also enjoyed visiting Foxwoods for the slots and buffet.
Among his survivors, Gerald leaves two sisters, Lynda J. Strahan of Turners Falls and Donna M. Howes of Derby Line, Vermont; and several nieces and nephews.
A Graveside service will be held Friday 10/13 at 11am at Calvary Cemetery Wisdom Way in Greenfield.
