Roland Emery Obituary

Roland Scott Emery, III

Parksville, British Columbia, Canada - May 6 , 1932 - July 9, 2025

It is with sadness that Roland's family announce his passing at Stanford Seniors Village on July 9th, at the great age of 93. Roland was predeceased by his wife, Mary and son John, as well as his younger sisters and brother, Riella, Roberta and Richard.

Roland is survived by his son Roland (Cori), and his granddaughters Jayden and Talya, as well as nieces and nephews in the USA.

Roland was born in Maine and raised in Greenfield, Massachusetts. He was proud of his service with the US Marine Corps, after which, he went on to become a teacher and a coach.

In 1962, he married the love of his life, Mary and they had two sons in Greenfield before moving to Parksville, British Columbia in 1975.

Roland worked for School District 69 for many years, finishing out his career at Ballenas Secondary School. Roland was committed to his involvement with the Shriners Hospital and served as President of the Parksville Club in the 80's.

Retiring in 1985, Roland and Mary went on an incredible year-long trip around the world. After returning to Nanoose, Roland focussed on his golf score and spent a lot of time perfecting it at Fairwinds Golf Club with some great friends.

At Rolands request, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, please consider honouring his memory with a donation to the Shriners Hospitals at Shriners Hospital for Children, 1003 Decarie Blvd, Montreal, QC H4A 0A9 or by clicking on this link: Shriners Hospital Canada
