Early Mullen Obituary

Early E. Mullen
GRIFTON - Early E. Mullen, 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 22, 2024.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 11 am at Legacy Church. The family will receive friends following the service. A private burial will be held in Grifton Cemetery.
Early, one of ten children born to the late Kenchen and Martha Mullen, was a native of Webster Co, Mississippi. Early served his country honorably in the US Marine Corps. While stationed at Camp Lejeune, he met Peggy Abbott at a dance in Greenville and were married after dating for only two months. They made their home in Grifton where he was employed as a sales agent in insurance and real estate. He was an active member of Grifton First Baptist Church, now known as Legacy Church, where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He loved fishing and hunting in his earlier years, but most importantly, loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by six of his siblings.
Early is survived by his wife of 68 years, Peggy Abbott Mullen; daughters, Gail Simmons (Larry), Hope Hardison (Ken), Earlene Mills (Tim), all of Grifton, and Diane Craft (Timmy) of Ayden; grandchildren, Jessica McKinney (Chad), Amy Hasse (David), Blake Hardison (Sarah), Adam Craft (Deanna), Colby Hardison (Brandi), and Sarah Craft; eleven great grandchildren and two more on the way; and siblings, Twyman A. Mullen (Peggy), Harford Mullen, and Carolyn Faye Phillips (Bobby).
