Thomas Climer Obituary
Tom was born on July 8, 1942 in Rome, GA, to Mr. Starling Denson Climer and Mrs. Eula Baggett Climer. Mr. Climer worked as a telecommunications engineer manager and worked as a funeral assistant for many years. He raised Cocker Spaniels for show and enjoyed farming and working with cattle.
He was a member of Second Avenue United Methodist Church. He was a Mason becoming a Past Master at Hillsborough Masonic Lodge, #25 in Tampa, FL. He enjoyed being outdoors golfing, fishing, boating, and hunting. Tom was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend who will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Rick Climer, Rome, GA, and former wife, Audrey Ann Climer, and his sister, Jackie Morgan.
He is survived by a loving family, wife, Lynda Lovell Boggs Climer; children: Jeffrey (Gerrie) Climer, Edmond, OK; Dennis (Jill) Climer, Dalton, GA; Carrie Climer, Bandon, OR. Martha (Jim) Borders, Colorado Springs, CO; Mary Kathryn Boggs, Hendersonville, TN; and George (Elisha) Boggs, Clarkesville, GA.
Grandchildren: Bryan (Denise) Climer, Mac Climer, Rachel Climer, Leanne Climer, Ryan Climer, Chile Climer, Elizabeth Borders, Andrew Borders, John Borders, Amelia Boggs, George Wilder Boggs, William Boggs, Hannah Boggs; and great-grandchildren Kaylee Climer and Parker Climer.
The family will receive friends at Second Avenue United Methodist Church, 801 E. 2nd Avenue, Rome, GA; Wednesday, December 20, 2023, from 12:00 PM until the service begins at 2:00 PM.
Funeral Services for Mr. Climer will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Second Avenue United Methodist Church with Reverend Rick Maeser, officiating.
Interment will follow at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
Serving as Pallbearers will be the following gentlemen: Jason Wilder, George Boggs, Charles Ford, Clinton Green, Joe Boggs and Baker Allen.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Second Avenue United Methodist Church.
