Larry Norman Bogue

1939 ~ 2024

Stansbury Park, UT-Larry Norman Bogue, aged 85, passed away peacefully at his home in Stansbury Park, Utah, on August 9, 2024. Born on January 12, 1939, in Iowa City, Iowa, Larry lived a life full of love, dedication, and compassion, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him.

Larry was known for his extraordinary ability to connect with animals, earning him the endearing title of "the Animal Whisperer" among his friends and family. His gentle nature and deep understanding of animals were a testament to his kind heart and patient spirit.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Andrea Gayle, his sisters Ginger Blair (Michael) of Austin, Texas, Roberta of Nevada, his brothers LeRoy of Oregon, Dick of Oregon and Danny of Oregon. He was a devoted father to Raphae Bogue (Stephanie), Hope Redden (Jerry), Paige Blake, Lonnie Bogue and Morgan Whitaker (Chris), and a proud grandfather to 17 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Larry's family was his pride and joy, and he found immense happiness in their love and companionship.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents Leslie Lionel and Helen Mae Bogue, his two infant sisters, Peggy and Betty, as well as sister Barbara Bogue, brother Dale Bogue and son-in-law, Robert Blake. He also joins his cherished father-in-law, Bill Anderson, and mother-in-law, Penny Anderson, whom he often referred to as his guardian angel.

A proud patriot, Larry served his country with honor in the United States Army. After his military service, he embarked on a lifelong journey with Andrea. Their marriage was a shining example of devotion and commitment, standing as a beacon of love for 64 wonderful years.

Larry's life was marked by his kindness, his love for his family, and his deep connection to the natural world. His heart was open to all, whether human or animal, and his generosity of spirit was felt by everyone who crossed his path. He will be remembered for his gentle wisdom, his unwavering love for his family, the quiet strength with which he lived his life, and his heart of gold.

Though Larry may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the countless lives he touched. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as his legacy of love, kindness, and compassion endures in the hearts of those who loved him.

Service for Larry will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 5899 Bayshore Drive, Stansbury Park, Utah. A lunch will follow from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to attend, share their memories, and celebrate the life of a man who meant so much to so many.
