Ellen Cosby Wills

Ellen Cosby Wills passed on from this life on June 15 th, 2025, at her home near Fredericksburg, Virginia. She was 82 years old. Ellen was born in Long Beach, California on August 2nd , 1942 to George and Dorothy Cosby. As a young child, she moved with her parents and two brothers to Porterville. She descended from the Porterville Pioneer families of Lewis and Traeger. Ellen grew up in Porterville and then

lived many other places before returning to Porterville each time.

Ellen graduated from Porterville High in 1961 and then from Bakersfield College.

She was an RN, a homemaker and worked with children in the school system, home daycare, and at church. She loved the mountains and beautiful music. She loved animals and rescued many in her lifetime. She loved children, loved her family deeply and loved God most of all. She is survived by her brothers, Richard Cosby and David Cosby and families. She is also survived by her husband of 60 years, Lewis Wills, her

two children, Lisa and Nathan, and 5 grandchildren. She will be missed. Services will

be held at the Springville Church of Christ on Saturday, September 13th at 11 AM.
