Kathleen Lessman
1942-2024
Kathleen Lessman passed away peacefully on August 14, 2024, just 7 weeks following the passing of her husband of 62 years.
Kathleen was born November 20, 1942, to James and Irma (Wood) Sullivan in Hibbing, Minnesota. She attended high school in Hibbing, graduating in 1960. Following graduation Kathleen attended beauty school and went on to work for several years as a beautician. Kathleen married Gary Lessman from Grand Rapids on June 16, 1962, and the couple then spent two years in Syracuse, New York. They moved back to Grand Rapids in 1964 and in 1967, began raising their family. Kathleen enjoyed a variety of creative projects including beautician work, knitting, crocheting, sewing, needlepoint, furniture refinishing, and reupholstering seats for Gary's restoration projects. Kathleen was a dedicated mother and grandmother, and always enjoyed watching her children's and grandchildren's activities throughout the years.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, James and Irma Sullivan; in-laws Werner and Marion Lessman; and husband Gary. She is survived by her sisters, Patricia Zoretic and Mary Jo Sullivan; sister-in-law Diane (Frank) Palmer; daughter Tracy (Jeff) McGuire, sons Michael(Traci) and Timothy (Trish), daughter Jennifer (Matt) Theis, 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

At Kathleen's request, no service will occur. A celebration of her life will be scheduled at a future date.
